Bella Coola is a small community situated on the Central Coast, nestled among the majestic Coast Mountains, in the Heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. Several smaller settlements stretch along 80 km of highway along the beautiful Bella Coola Valley. The town is located in the traditional, unceded, ancestral territory of the Nuxalk Nation. Today, Nuxalkmc are joined by descendants of Norwegian settlers and more recent visitors to produce a diverse and thriving community.
The temperate climate of the Bella Coola Valley receives less rainfall than the outer coast, and its microclimate provides excellent growing conditions for true homesteading!
In the Bella Coola Valley, you will find everything you need to live comfortably including grocery stores, restaurants, artisan shops, several schools, and more.
Physician housing includes detached single-family dwellings with up-to-date furnishings, linens, and full kitchens. Basic food supplies such as coffee, tea, and condiments are provided. Cable and internet are included. There is a new gym with state-of-the-start equipment on- site for Hospital Staff. Housing costs are covered for locums, whereas regular contracted physicians are charged a reasonable daily rate.
